A little History on Swiers Farm
The Farm became redundant in 1991 when Carsington Water was completed the farmland now lies beneath Carsington Water, although a couple of acres have been kept with the Farm and provide an area for ball games, picnics, or perhaps a quiet moment to absorb the beauty of the hill to the rear of the property.
Our family moved to the Farm in 1992 with our four small children. We have been slowly restoring ever since. The barns have been a delight to work with, since they have so much charm and character. Each year we do a little more, perhaps extending the gardens, perhaps upgrading kitchens, and we are more than a little pleased with the end results. We think our cottages are just lovely! Beamed ceilings, traditional doors, exposed stone work, flagged floors, simple decor and lovely rugs along with comfortable settees and mellow furniture, lovely pictures and other traditional features combine to create a warm and cosy atmosphere home from home.
