Directions From The East:

Travel North or South along the A6 to Cromford Village (just South of Matlock Bath). At the traffic lights turn into Cromford Village and climb up Cromford Hill (B5036) towards Wirksworth.

At the top of the hill is an arched railway bridge leading into Wirksworth:- Before the Bridge turn right and  follow the brown tourism signs for  Carsington Water and Ashbourne.

At next crossroads (Middleton Village) go straight across with the Rising Sun Public House to your right. You are now on the B5035/Ashbourne Road.

Climb the hill and pass under the bridge (which is the High Peak Trail)  and Middleton Top Visitor Centre on rhs:-      Continue on the B5035:- pass the road on rhs to Brassington:- pass two turns on lhs to Wirksworth:- you will now see Carsington Water on the left if it is daylight. Pass the next  lane on lhs  to Kirk Ireton  and immediately after on rhs is a sign for ‘Hopton & Carsington’. Pass this first turning into the Village:- pass next turn on lhs to Sheepwash Car Park:- take the immediate next right hand turn marked ‘Carsington & Hopton’.

**This country lane leads you into the Village of Carsington where you will take a sharp right hand bend. Our Farm -  Swiers Farm is the third property on the left hand side after this bend.   We have an open drive between two barns, and a burgundy notice board to the rhs of the drive at the roadside.   If you reach the Church opposite the telephone box and Miners Arms Pub you have passed us.

Daisy & Phoebe Cottages are approached via the drive between the barns leading up to the farmhouse. Please park on the left hand side of the drive adjacent to the Cottages, name plaques are to right of entrance doors.

The Barn is approached via the second drive which is just past our main driveway, adjacent the Churchyard Wall and our Croft. Please parking is at the top of The Croft at right angles to the hedge.

NB: The Brown Tourist Board Signs for Carsington Water will take you to the  Visitor Centre which is 2 miles SW of Carsington Village.

NB:  Carsington Cottages are Situate at Swiers Farm at the Centre of Carsington Village left of the Churchyard & Church which is floodlit until midnight.


Directions From The West:

From Ashbourne and surrounding area you will see the large Brown Tourism Signs for ‘Carsington Water’. Follow these signs. From Ashbourne the signs will direct you along the B5035.     

DO NOT take the right hand turn to Carsington Water as directed by the Tourist Signs this is the Visitor Centre not Carsington Village.

Please continue East towards Wirksworth and Middleton:-      pass the Knockerdown Public House on rhs:-  pass  Brassington Village on lhs:- Careful on the next sharp right hand bend:-  pass the layby on lhs, pass Breach Farm on the lhs:-          then 200 yards later take a left hand turn for Carsington & Hopton Villages.
